About Us

At Madelaine Ingles Speech & Language we are dedicated to helping your child reach their individual communication goals.

Through family-centered, child-led, and play-based intervention, we use evidence-based techniques to enhance your child’s communication, whether we are working on first words, speech clarity, augmentative communication, social communication, self-advocacy, literacy, and more.

Our speech therapy clinic is based in downtown Barrie and we also offer early childhood speech and language development services through virtual assessment and online therapy sessions.

Speech-Language Pathology, Baby Caregiver Communication Development Class

Mingle & Babble

Ages: 6-13 months

We are proud to offer Mingle & Babble, our baby-caregiver class designed to teach you about early communication development (babble) while getting to know other caregivers in your community (mingle)!

Designed by a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist, Mingle & Babble will introduce you to books, songs, signs, and strategies for promoting early communication with your little one.

Toddle & Talk

Ages: 13-23 months

Bigger babies means bigger babblers! Our Toddle & Talk program was created to help you continue to foster a love of language with your baby through books, music, signs, and weekly themes.

Explore imitation, early gestures, and first words, while getting to know other families in our Barrie community!

Lego Castle Built During Brick Club

Brick Club

Ages: 7-10 years

Based on the work of Dr. Daniel Legoff and Dr. Gina Gomez De La Cuesta, Brick Club is a neurodiversity-affirming, child-led, interactive setting where kids develop expressive language and social communication skills, under the supportive supervision of trained facilitators.

In this club, participants work together, collaborate, and compromise to create Lego projects, including sets, free-builds, and even stop-motion animation!

Getting started is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Step 1

Book a free consultation with a member of our team. Learn about our services, ask questions, and provide background information about your child so we can match them to the RIGHT therapist!

Complete online intake by filling out our case history and consent forms. Feel free to share any previous reports from other professionals that may be relevant. Collaboration is key!

Join us for your initial assessment. The first session is about building rapport, getting to know your child’s unique strengths and needs, and creating a customized treatment plan. You will be with your child every step of the way. You will receive a 1-2 page written summary outlining goals and recommendations!

Start therapy! Whether you work with a passionate speech-language pathologist or talented communicative disorders assistant, we will book your child’s sessions based on their unique needs and your availability!

Meet the Team

Our team of Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) and Communicative Disorders Assistants (CDAs) is made up of passionate, energetic, qualified therapists who want to see your child soar!

Speech-Language Pathologists are graduates of Master’s level Speech-Language Pathology programs and have also completed internships, and additional training in the field of speech-language pathology. Communicative Disorders Assistants have undergraduate degrees in related fields and have completed an intensive college program to deliver high quality therapy under the supervision of a registered Speech-Language Pathologist. All of our SLPs are registered in good standing with the College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Ontario.
